The U Visa for Victims of Crime is a special visa for individuals (and their immediate relatives) who have been the victim of a qualified criminal activity; who have been helpful to law enforcement or government officials in the investigation or prosecution; and who have suffered substantially as a result of the criminal activity.

  • Sexual Exploitation
  • Slave Trade
  • Stalking
  • Torture
  • Trafficking
  • Witness Tampering
  • Unlawful Criminal Restraint
  • Other Related Crimes

Also includes attempt, conspiracy, or solicitation to commit any of the above and other related crimes.

If you case occurred more than 10 years ago, if the certification has already been denied,  or the case has already been filed with USCIS, it does not qualify for the free appointment.
